I am excited to announce: “Bringing Broadway to France: Bridging Humanity, One Story at a Time” — the podcast and movement where music, resilience, and humanity connect across the Atlantic.
Here is what you can expect: Every episode celebrates musicals from Broadway, the UK, and Europe—not just as entertainment, but as windows into the human experience. We’ll dive deep into the stories these shows tell, the causes they illuminate, and why they matter now more than ever in these turbulent times.
You’ll hear honest, deep and often hilarious interviews with performers, directors, choreographers, and industry insiders sharing their raw journeys, struggles, and triumphs. Plus, we’ll we sharing ongoing guidance for emerging singers, actors, and dancers on how to build a sustainable career.
At its heart, this show is about joy. It’s about resilience. It’s about proving that art belongs to everyone, everywhere, and that every story deserves to be told.
But why France? Living in this beautiful country, I want to bring the magic of Broadway directly to French soil. While London and Berlin have long embraced the spectacle of musical theater, France has often been left out of the conversation. This movement is born from a simple truth: The human stories told on Broadway are universal, and they belong here. By sharing these narratives, we aren’t just importing shows; we are building a bridge of empathy and culture.
And why me? I’m an Award-Winning TV Host, Singer, Actor, Entertainer who has graced major stages including Times Square Fashion Week and the Oscars Luxury Viewing Gala, yet my career has often been interrupted by lifelong illness and disability. Now, in my early 50s, living in France and healthier than I’ve ever been, I am finally able to build the sustainable career I was always meant to have.
But my journey is also rooted in a deeper struggle for identity and belonging. Born to Palestinian and Lebanese parents who were displaced during the Nakba, I grew up navigating a world where being called a “terrorist” on the playground and treated as a second-class citizen was my norm. In trying to survive, by 16 years old, I changed my last name from Khoury to Ashton and moved schools to hide my Arab identity.
I stand for all of humanity. My work has been recognized globally, including receiving a medal from Queen Elizabeth II and an award from President Obama for my lifetime of advocacy on various causes.
My mission is to show that every story deserves to be told, regardless of origin, and that equal rights and opportunity for all are not privileges, but necessities.
It is never too late to reclaim your name, your story, and your dreams.
